The shipping challenge of a sustainable plant brand
As a brand that delivers directly to customers and holds sustainability in high regard, Plantsome wanted to make the entire process as eco-friendly and efficient as possible. Yet shipping living plants brought specific logistical challenges.
Every plant needed protective packaging, but the shipping options were not flexible or scalable. Sometimes a small plant was shipped in a box that was too large, creating unnecessary waste. Even trickier was the lack of control over delivery, which meant plants arrived late or damaged.

Because of the rapidly growing order volumes, Thom and Axel realized their fulfilment process had to grow along with their mission, but making improvements takes time.

Growing through a smarter shipping process and more control
Plantsome first switched to Sendcloud to make shipping orders easier. The first big improvement was Pack & Go, a smart scanning method from Sendcloud that simplified packing, reduced errors and saved time.
With Sendcloud they could also add multiple carriers to their shipping process without complicated contracts. This not only led to lower rates but also made next-day delivery possible, which is essential when shipping living plants.
Instead of dropping off parcels themselves every day, orders are now picked up directly from them. This frees up more time for the team to focus on growth and on serving customers.
