The tech company Sendcloud is now available in Austria. Here is what is behind it, and why our service could be interesting for your online store.
E-commerce, an engine for growth
Few industries grow as fast as online retail, and Austria is no exception. Around a third of Austrians already shop online, spending an average of about €2,000 a year. The opportunity is clear, and you have taken it by starting your own online store.
You have probably noticed how competitive e-commerce is. Big players put pressure on small and mid-sized retailers, and shopper expectations keep rising: orders should arrive quickly and ideally for free, with easy returns to match. These are real challenges, and they take time. The good news is that we help you meet them.
The story
Our three founders, Rob, Bas, and Sabi, ran their own online store and struggled with the same hurdles, shipping most of all. At the time there was no shipping software that connected properly to online stores. Rather than accept that, they sold the store and founded Sendcloud in Eindhoven in 2012.
Success did not come overnight. They signed their first carrier contract, then called online retailers, showed their solution, and won customers one by one, from 100 to 500 to more than 1,000. Seeing how much it helped retailers, they took it beyond the Netherlands, to Belgium, France, and Germany. Now it is Austria's turn.

The solution
Sendcloud is a cloud-based shipping tool for online retailers. It connects to the common store systems, along with Amazon and eBay, and shipments can also be created manually or imported by CSV. Use carriers such as the Austrian Post and DPD side by side, and create shipping labels with a single click. Track shipment status in one overview, customize your track and trace emails, and set up a branded return portal for your customers.
The highlights:
No base fee and no contract lock-in
No minimum volume
Use several carriers (Austrian Post, DPD)
National and international shipping, including express
Shipping overview with tracking
Customizable shipping labels
Multilingual tracking emails
Free parcel collection
A capable customer service team
A return portal

Sendcloud’s Post-Purchase Solution, now available in the tools your team already uses
Most retailers leave post-purchase on default, letting courier notifications and out-of-the-box tracking emails speak for the brand. Sendcloud's Post-Purchase Solution changes that: delivery events now flow straight into the tools your team already uses, like Gorgias, Zendesk, Freshdesk and Klaviyo, turning tracking updates into branded touchpoints, proactive support alerts, and automated claims, no matter which courier or platform you ship with.
